Hugo Wong, will talk about his fascinating book America’s Lost Chinese, via Zoom on Thursday 27 February at 6pm UK time. This inspiring, haunting story follows Chinese migrant workers first to the USA then to Mexico where they are determined to find success. Hugo relates the stories of his great-grandfathers who fled poverty in China to seek new lives in the Americas. After being made unwelcome in the USA they established new lives in Mexico. Their experiences during and after the Revolution are sometimes tragic but they survived through both victories and humiliating defeats. Hugo’s illustrated talk will bring this fascinating book to life and there will be plenty of time for questions.
