The Other Moctezuma Girls with Sofía Robleda at Waterstones Covent Garden

Join Mexican author Sofia Robleda in collaboration with the British Mexican Society for the launch of her new novel The Other Moctezuma Girls – a powerful and intimate reimagining of the life of Mexico’s ‘Other Boleyn Girl’ Isabel Moctezuma, the Last Empress of The Mexica and the most powerful woman in the region. Come and join us over a glass of wine whilst Sofia brings the lives of marginalised women from 16th century Latin America to life.

Sofia Robleda is a Mexican author. She identifies as a third-culture kid who grew up around the world. She has lived in the UK for 8 years and began an ancestral search to discover more information about her mixed Spanish and Indigenous heritage. The result was her debut Daughter of Fire. It was an Amazon First Reads pick and a Top 100 Kindle bestseller in the USA. Sofia is inspired to write stories focused on women and the hidden aspects of early Mexican post-colonial history, a subject that continues to be painfully relevant to this day.
